Why one should anyone update to Windows 8?

Software giant Microsoft finally released Windows 8 for the general public on 26th October, 2012. With its totally new metro style UI and totally cool new features, this operating system has managed to create some buzz. Windows 8 will come on desktops both for home and business,it will also be available on laptops, tablets, mobiles and personal computers. While some would argue that Windows 8 totally devoted to touch based devices, its is pretty good with keyboard and mouse too.



The totally new Windows 8 comes with remarkable features that make updating worthwhile. But one should keep in mind the various prerequisite before updating. Here are some reasons which makes Windows 8 a must have operating system

1. Faster Start up: Windows 8 in much improved as compared to its predecessor Windows 7. Microsoft has worked on improving the performance of Windows 8 making it much more faster as compared to Windows 7. For the matter of fact it is faster that Windows 7 in many task.

2. A whole new app store: Like Apple's iTunes store, Microsoft came up with its app store which makes purchasing, installing and updating a very simple task. You can now share apps on different windows devices you know, given that you are signed in. Microsoft's app store is now growing at a good pace, with many big developers coming in, the app store soon will be as big as Android's play store or Apple's iTunes.

3. Security: Windows 8 can be called the "most secure OS version of Windows". It comes with secure boot that doesn't allow any OS copy to boot which is not signed by the publisher. It also comes with Internet Explorer 10 which is test for blocking 99 percent of malicious downloads as compared to 70 percent of Google Chrome and Firefox.

4.  Superior Touch features : Metro UI of the Windows mobile OS 7.5 has been improved to provide best user experience. With features for the tablet PCs that surpass even that of iPad. Keyboard and mouse are also not forgotten. They too have suitable implementation. Keyboard shortcuts still work and the scrolling with mouse and mouse wheel is just as good like the touch.

While these were some reasons one should go for updating, there are some things one should keep in mind. New users particularly who are in the learning phase might find it difficult to start with Windows 8. Also Windows 8 doesn't support old system configurations. But if you are a Windows fan than do go for it, you won't regret your investment.
